The Daniel Foundation for Humanitarian Assistance in Raya, a Registered Foundation in Canada, is dedicated to addressing the short-term emergency and long-term humanitarian needs of vulnerable communities in Raya. Our mission is centered on restoring livelihoods, preserving dignity, and combating poverty among the most marginalized populations.
Focused primarily on poor girls, boys, orphaned children, and vulnerable women lacking sustainable income, the Raya Project targets those who face the greatest challenges in sustaining themselves.
Our overall objective is to provide Emergency Assistance to address urgent and critical needs during times of crisis. In the post-emergency phase, we transition to empowering beneficiaries through various opportunities such as skill-building to facilitate their recovery process.
In alignment with our mission, the RAYA and South Wollo Program aims to achieve the following objectives:
1. Emergency Assistance: Providing essential support including nutritious food supplements, healthcare, sanitation services, and counseling for survivors of sexual abuse resulting from recent conflicts in Northern Ethiopia.
2. Rehabilitation of Schools: Rebuilding and revitalizing schools that have been destroyed, with a special emphasis on providing school feeding programs for impoverished girls and boys who have been deprived of education for the past two years due to conflict.
3. Recovery Support: Offering seed funding and resources to the most vulnerable individuals to help them rebuild their livelihoods and regain economic independence.
Through these initiatives, the Daniel Foundation for Humanitarian Assistance in Raya strives to make a meaningful and sustainable impact on the lives of those affected by crises, empowering them to rebuild and thrive.
